Many customers are now looking for a flexo machine to print very short runs and on which even printing one roll becomes economically feasible. Our technical department has studied a new Telia that incorporates the well known FSC patent sleeve change system and has some features in ergonomics that allows the operator to change jobs with minimum scrap in a very short time. Only one operator can handle this press which is manufactured in 6 or 8 colour version in widths 700 mm (28”), 900 mm (35”), 1100 mm (43”). The repeat range of this new press is really interesting because the minimum starts at 260 mm (10”) and the maximum at 800 mm (31”) The printing section has a very heavy structure and even if this machine is “narrow web” the frame thickness is 100 mm thick (4”) The electronics of the Telia NW and the work station can memorize up to 2000 jobs and can provide: an automatic pre-register setting a repetition of a memorized job by automatic adjusting of the printing pressure, of the register, of the air speed, etc. the unwinder/rewinder are of shaftless type for an easy change of the rolls and upon request, if long runs are required, the machine can be supplied with automatic flying splice at unwinding and rewinding. In this case the machine can be set to run up to 400 m/minute (1350 ft’). The drying system is extremely efficient and includes LEL concentration control and an air speed control. The lay out is compact and incorporates all the electricals and the wash up system (optional). We have recently introduced in our range of servo driven presses our BIELLOFLEX TEA 6 colour STACK press This press is meant for short runs and it is our “entry level” flexo-press. Quite simple, easy to operate, especially designed to print 3+3 or 4+2, TEA is designed to work from reel to reel or also in-line with extruders. The concept of the drying section is quite NEW and designed to print both sides of the web with the same efficiency. The flexo-units are equipped with doctor blade chamber system and ceramic anilox rolls. All units are servo-driven through Bosch Indramat technology which guarantees high precision with no mechanical vibrations. There is no mechanical transmissions between the decks and it is possible to print on both sides by simply switching a knob. The servo-driven technology allows the possibility of a 360° register for a very fast set-up of the machine with no scrap.
