All customers that have now in operation a Telia press, either on 8 or 10 colour, can confirm that Telia is a press on which the down times are really minimized. We have customers changing even 6,7 jobs per shift, making use not only of the patented FSC system that makes the changes of anilox plate sleeve easy for the operator, but also making use of the computerized features of presetting (included as standard in our presses) that can minimize the scrap. We developed a new Flexo printing unit suitable to work in line with wide extrusion lines and bag makers. All models available are based on the servodrive technology and can work also at high speed, depending on the applications. The units are available in widths 1600, 1800, 2300, 2600 mm. in 4, 6 or 8 colour configuration, stack type or CI type. The CI series are especially studied to work with cast film lines. The advantage of the new units, compared with the conventional gear technology, is evident because the operator can easily start the production without any problem in setting up the register. These units are all “customized”, depending on the application required. The standard inking configuration includes new designed chambered doctor blades with ceramic anilox rollers. Due to the new technology and sophistication of our new flexo units, it is now possible to print in line with a very high quality standard. The productivity will be, therefore, increased because in most cases there will be no need of printing on a reel to reel flexo printing press. These units are ideal for printing on shrink hood, stretch hood, shrink films or adhesive films. We have developed a new version within our series of “Telia Gearless” presses designed specifically for very frequent job change. This machine is based on our “FSC” patented system, demonstrated worldwide at numerous international Shows. Its mechanical speed is up to 350 m/min (1150ft/min). The press is also available in width of 650-850 mm (26 to 34”) for label printing. ! TECHNICAL DATA
Magiflex Gearless system is indicated to be used by all customers who, having lots of work changes and short or very short printing runs during the day, need a simple system easy to use. Important feature of this machine is the possibility to position the locks/stoppers into a pre-print position by means of a workstation.
During the changeover phase the operator can select one single color, and decide whether to change the printing sleeve, the anilox sleeve or both of them. Another important feature of our sleeve hangeover system is that the doctor blade group and its relevant support are mounted on ball bearing thrusts with rack-in/out driven by couple of pneumatic cylinders. This solution allows to change the anilox sleeve without dismounting the doctor blade and relevant pipes. Printing section The printing groups have been designed to reduce to the minimum the down times needed for the movement of the anilox and printing cylinders supports when a sleeve change must be effected. In-machine Automatic Sleeves Change For Plate And Anilox Cylinders
On this gearless series an extremely fast and reliable sleeves change system has been achieved, to allow very fast changes and operator friendly operations, thus dramatically reducing the possibility of mistakes. Description of the changeover operations:
Work station
Based on a computer with display and a PLC for central drum positioning. The operator mounts all the plates according to an engraved reference key on the printing cylinder or on the sleeves. The operator chooses the printing repeat on the display and then starts the automatic presetting of all printing groups (or just the ones chosen) which shift till the proper position. When all the colours result automatically almost positioned in register the operator can make small corrections through the remote control. The printing pressure adjustments result minimised being all the stations already positioned close to the web to be printed according to the parameters chosen by the operator. For each new working cycle the computer will require the following information:
The computer will also display machine alarms by the centralised diagnostic according to the indications received from the PLC. The computerised pre-setting system allows safe and quick job changeover being each station exactly positioned. It is also possible to memorize and repeat from the computer all tension controls of a single job and recall it in a future, making very easy the preparation and regulation of the tension when repeating the same job. Furthermore, from the workstation it is possible to program any repeat with an increase of decimals of milimeter, and is also possible to “dis-phase” the speed of the drum with respect to the colours of up to 2% so as to allow the use of a same sleeve with a variation of the printing repeat of up to +/- 1 / 2%.
